The Indigenous Peoples’ Health Research Centre (IPHRC) is a partnership between the?First Nations University of Canada, the?University of Regina?and the University of Saskatchewan. We have been awarded funding for research projects from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research?(CIHR) and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF).
Our mandate is to develop capacity for community-based Indigenous health research in Saskatchewan and to create networks of Indigenous health researchers regionally, nationally, and internationally. We strive to create an ethical environment in research that supports Indigenous community-based definitions and solutions to health while acknowledging Indigenous models/methods of health and informing government policies and practices.
We are a diverse network of people who are involved in a variety of Indigenous health research projects in Saskatchewan and beyond.
In total, IPHRC has brought in over $5 million worth of Indigenous health research funding to Saskatchewan since 2002.
